Expiry Dates and Shipping: The printed expiry date on Costco freshly-butchered pork products is typically 1-2 days after the purchase date. For most parts of Japan this means that the meat will arrive on the day of or the day before the printed date of expiry. For deliveries to Hokkaido, Kyushu and Okinawa your meat will likely arrive on the day of or the day after the printed date of expiry. In this case, it is our policy to send all freshly-butchered meats frozen though we try to send the package chilled wherever possible. According to Real Simple magazine, raw pork roast and chops can be kept indefinitely when frozen, but should be used within 4 and 6 months for best flavor.
